About the Role We are currently seeking full-time Structural Steel Fabricators to join our team. These positions are available for deployment on significant infrastructure and commercial construction projects throughout New Zealand. As a Structural Steel Fabricator, you will be responsible for placing, securing, and tying structural steel components in accordance with engineering plans, while ensuring compliance with safety standards. These are full-time, permanent roles with guaranteed minimum hours based on project demand. Key Responsibilities - Interpret engineering plans and drawings to accurately place and secure structural steel components. - Tie reinforcement steel using the correct techniques for various reinforcement systems. - Collaborate with site teams to ensure timely and safe installation of steelwork. - Comply with all health, safety, and quality standards on-site. - Work effectively within large construction teams under strict deadlines. Skills and Experience Required - A minimum of 2 years of experience in structural steel placement and reinforcement tying, whether local or overseas. - Ability to read and work from technical and engineering drawings. - Strong physical fitness and manual dexterity. - Knowledge of safety procedures and quality control in steel construction. - Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure construction projects is preferred. - Relevant trade experience or qualifications will be advantageous. Nationwide Opportunity and Travel While this role is listed in Otago, we are actively recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. The regions include: North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington. South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
