Description
About the Company
We are a leading civil company dedicated to maintaining and enhancing New Zealand’s infrastructure. Our commitment to our people and investment in modern equipment sets us apart in the industry. We take pride in what we do and are passionate about creating a positive impact in our communities.
About the Role
We are currently looking for motivated and hardworking labourers to join our team in the civil sector. Your primary responsibility will be to help keep New Zealand roads running smoothly.
In this role, you will assist with a variety of tasks, including supporting machinery operations and aiding in the replacement of safety barriers. We value teamwork and are looking for individuals who are not afraid to get their hands dirty and are eager to contribute to a range of activities on site.
This position will require you to work across the wider Canterbury and Mackenzie regions. There will be instances where you may need to be away from home for up to three weeks at a time, although travel typically does not occur on weekends. Occasionally, night work may also be required. We will cover all accommodation and food costs, and generous allowances will be provided for those periods of travel.
Requirements
While previous experience in the civil sector is preferred, it is not mandatory as we will provide comprehensive training. What we seek are individuals who are enthusiastic about learning, capable of following instructions, and willing to engage in both routine and exciting tasks.
Since this role involves outdoor work and can include long hours, resilience and a strong work ethic are essential for success.
To be considered for this position, you will need:
- A full class 1 New Zealand Driver’s License (higher classes and endorsements are a plus)
- The ability to pass pre-employment checks, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal history check
- The legal right to work in New Zealand, along with relevant documentation
- A current CV with contactable references
Benefits
In addition to being part of a company that truly cares about its employees, you will have the opportunity to work in some of the most beautiful areas of our region while gaining valuable experience in the civil sector. This is a temporary role that will last until the end of Autumn, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidates.
You will be compensated with a competitive weekly wage, along with generous allowances while travelling.
