About the Role
We are seeking Medical Laboratory Technicians to provide essential laboratory support to our scientific and administrative staff. This role encompasses a diverse range of routine tasks, including reagent preparation, equipment maintenance, stock control, ordering supplies, data entry, sample processing, genetic testing, and assistance with the send-away process. The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.
About the Team/Service
The Wellington Regional Genetics Laboratory offers a comprehensive genetic testing service. Our aim is to deliver high-quality genetic testing to the Central Region in a professional, timely, and effective manner. Our team consists of 25 full-time equivalents (FTE), including administrators, medical laboratory technicians, and diagnostic genetic scientists.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and experience:
- A tertiary qualification
- Registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand
- Previous experience working within a laboratory is desirable
- A strong interest in genetics
