About the Role We are excited to announce an opening for Casual Visitor Rangers to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will serve as the front line in engaging our visitors and delivering face-to-face interpretations. As a Casual Visitor Ranger, you will be the friendly, welcoming presence throughout the Zoo, ensuring that our visitors enjoy an enriching and memorable experience filled with animal encounters. Your responsibilities will include connecting our community with the animals we care for through animal talks, interactive activities, educational programs, and Animal Close Encounters. A passion for environmental education and conservation is important, as is a willingness to connect people with animals. Additionally, you should have a good level of fitness due to the nature of the role, which involves significant walking on hilly terrain. We also seek individuals who are level-headed and prioritize health and safety. Benefits We offer a competitive living wage of $28.95 per hour, along with a provided uniform, including boots. You will be part of a supportive and inclusive team, with access to Zoo passes that can be shared with family and friends, as well as discounts on Zoo products. This position provides an exciting and varied work environment, and you will have the opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to animal welfare, sustainability initiatives, community engagement, and conservation outcomes.
