FSQ Team Leader

About the Role
As the FSQ Team Leader, you will have significant responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Leading four direct reports within the FSQ department and demonstrating strong leadership skills.
- Supporting the FSQ department and site with the quality risk management program (Q-RMP) requirements and implementing action plans, which includes providing technical training to factory staff and conducting risk assessments.
- Investigating and documenting incidents while reporting on Edify and other Quality KPIs to ensure effective outcomes for quality incidents and internal and external complaints.
- Participating in the internal audit schedule and validation processes, conducting audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Assisting with projects and decisions related to product sampling and testing, representing the FSQ department in new product, process, or packaging developments.
- Providing quality module training to other departments and supporting the FSQ department’s responsibilities in reporting and steering meetings.
- Managing non-conforming products, ensuring traceability of finished goods and raw materials, and validating critical control points (CCPs) to uphold food safety and quality.
- Supporting the investigation of quality incidents and responding to customer complaints in a timely manner, utilizing risk assessment and root cause analysis for effective decision-making.
- Offering quality support and training to operations staff, contributing to the reporting and steering meeting requirements to promote continuous improvement in food safety and quality.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Experience with quality risk assessment and the ability to make informed decisions regarding product food safety and quality.
- High computer literacy, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
- Strong personal integrity and a proactive approach to challenges.
- A growth mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
- Technical experience in the food industry, with a solid understanding of food safety and quality principles.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively, focusing on achieving results and driving continuous improvement.
- A degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience in the food industry.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand with full working rights.
