About the Role
As a Carpenter with us, you will play a crucial role in various projects across the country. Flexibility in work locations is preferred, as you may be assigned to different sites as needed. Your responsibilities will include shaping and cutting materials to specified measurements, following safety regulations, and maintaining a clean working environment.
You will measure, mark, and cut materials using hand tools and machines, as well as install structures or fixtures such as windows, floors, and trim. Additionally, you will verify the accuracy of structures using tools like plumb bobs and levels. Your expertise will also be utilized in building or repairing cabinets, doors, and wooden fixtures, as well as selecting and ordering necessary materials for projects.
Key duties include assembling materials, maintaining records, inspecting work for damages, and finishing surfaces. You may also be involved in creating forms for concrete work, arranging for subcontractors, and applying decorative paneling. Minor plumbing, welding, or concrete mixing tasks may be required, along with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant carpentry experience or a relevant qualification.
- Strong time management skills and a commitment to learning and developing your skills.
- A solid understanding of health and safety procedures.
- A friendly demeanor, with reliability and a strong work ethic.
Benefits
We offer a competitive hourly wage ranging from $26.00 to $40.00, depending on experience and skill level. You will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours of work per week in a permanent, full-time position.
Location
Your primary work locations will include Auckland, Waikato, Northland, Nelson, Canterbury, and Otago.
