About the Role
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Whaea/Kaumatua who can provide profound guidance, strategic direction, and support at both clinical and cultural levels within our Forensic and Rehabilitation Services at Te Korowai Whariki, MHAIDS. This part-time position will be based at the Ratonga Rua campus in Porirua and will cover both the Forensic and Rehabilitation sectors.
About Our Team
Te Korowai Whariki is part of the Mental Health Addictions and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS). Our services span the Central Region, from Tairawhiti on the East Coast to Whanganui, and south to Wellington and Wairarapa. We encompass Central Region Forensic Inpatient and community services, a Youth Forensic service, as well as Inpatient Rehabilitation and Extended Care services.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated Māori cultural leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Tikanga and be able to maintain the Kawa and Kaupapa of our service. You will provide guidance on matters relating to Tikanga Māori within mental health services. Proficiency in Te Reo Māori is essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong relationship-building skills and demonstrated leadership abilities are crucial, as is the capacity to motivate and influence others in their practice.
