About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled maintenance fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing both scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks for mechanical equipment on site. You will play a key role in the implementation and development of routine maintenance checks and standard procedures.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring that equipment, materials, and tools are readily available for effective work execution. You will also report on resource usage, job scope changes, and any necessary rework or deferred maintenance. Additionally, you will assist in developing and applying safe and practical machinery isolation practices.
As part of your daily duties, you will supervise your area of responsibility, fostering positive employee relations that drive productivity and maintain an engaging workplace culture. You will also ensure that our quality management systems are implemented and strictly followed.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Proven experience as a maintenance fitter in an automated manufacturing environment
- Qualification as a Mechanical Technician, with a Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent
- Prior supervisory experience
- A proactive problem-solving approach, with a strong awareness of cost control
- Flexibility to support both day and night shifts
- A full New Zealand driver’s license (Class 1)
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
