About the Role
We are currently seeking a Health Care Assistant to join our team at Rotorua Hospital. This is a permanent, part-time position (0.8 FTE) that involves working full rostered shifts.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your duties will include assisting patients in maintaining their independence while providing a caring and supportive environment that promotes recovery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Attending to patients' personal hygiene needs, repositioning, feeding, and toileting as required.
- Responding promptly to patient calls and requests.
- Monitoring vulnerable patients closely to ensure their safety.
- Communicating effectively and courteously with RNs, patients' family members, and the healthcare team.
- Performing assigned tasks such as cleaning, restocking, tidying, and checking equipment.
- Contributing to supply maintenance by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.

About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is honest and reliable. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and work well in a team setting. You should be able to handle pressure and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
Additional qualifications include:
- The ability to accept direction and delegation.
- Availability for fully rostered shifts.
- Recent experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
