About the Role
We are currently seeking a Registered Health Care Professional, such as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker, with experience in mental health to join our Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) based at Kensington Centre in Timaru. This position is a fixed-term role covering parental leave at 1 FTE.
The CMHT provides essential services through a multi-disciplinary team approach, offering specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment for adults experiencing moderate to severe psychiatric disorders. As a case manager, you will work closely with individuals to support them in achieving their personal goals, tailored to their unique needs. A solid understanding of psychiatric disorders and medications is crucial, as you will provide community support and assist clients with interpersonal, social, recreational, vocational, and independent living activities.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the diverse needs of clients facing mental health challenges and a genuine passion for guiding them toward recovery. You will utilize existing strengths, family or community resources, and cultural considerations to support clients in realizing their goals and aspirations.
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) to practice in New Zealand, with a relevant scope of practice
- Relevant mental health experience
- Experience in delivering evidence-based practices
- A commitment to working within a strengths-based recovery approach to case management
- Enjoyment of collaborative work within a team environment
- A current full driver's license is essential
