About the Role
We are currently seeking a Registered Health Care Professional to join our Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) at the Kensington Centre in Timaru. This fixed-term position is full-time and will cover parental leave. The CMHT employs a multi-disciplinary approach to provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment for adults experiencing moderate to severe psychiatric disorders.
As a case manager, your primary responsibility will be to work alongside individuals to help them achieve their personal goals based on their unique needs. A solid understanding of psychiatric disorders and medications is essential, as you will be providing community support and facilitating interpersonal, social, recreational, vocational, and independent living activities for those you serve.
About You
We are looking for someone who is familiar with the diverse needs of clients facing mental health challenges and is passionate about guiding them toward recovery. You will leverage your strengths and utilize family or community support systems, all while respecting the individual’s cultural needs, goals, and aspirations.
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Current registration with an Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) in New Zealand in a relevant scope of practice
- Relevant mental health experience
- Experience in delivering evidence-based practices
- A commitment to a strengths-based recovery approach to case management
- Enjoyment of teamwork
- A current full driver’s license
