About the Role We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team based in Wellington. In this role, you will report to our Planning and Reporting Manager and become an integral part of our team by providing essential insights related to workforce planning and key costs. Your contributions will enable the business to make well-informed decisions. You will play a vital role in month-end reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Additionally, your support will extend to various business units, providing valuable advice and assisting with a range of tasks within the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Chartered Accountant working towards their qualification. Here is what you can expect from this role: - Lead the workforce reporting for Trade Me and provide insights into personnel movements - Contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts, as well as long-term financial modeling - Assist in creating monthly reporting packs and presentations for the leadership team - Perform ad hoc analysis and provide support to the FP&A and broader Finance team as needed - Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for the Trade Me Group - Collaborate on projects to enhance our reporting tool (Adaptive) and the analysis of workforce costs - Maintain up-to-date procedure notes for all tasks - Be a key partner and visible presence to stakeholders across New Zealand We are a lean finance team, and you will be expected to actively engage in various tasks as required. Requirements To thrive in our team, you should possess the following: - A tertiary qualification, preferably a Bachelor of Commerce or a similar degree - A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience within a medium to large Finance team - A critical thinking mindset with a focus on process improvement - Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning is advantageous Benefits At Trade Me, we believe in fostering a supportive and enjoyable work environment.
