About the Role
We are seeking a Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) Pharmacist to join our team in a part-time role, working 40 hours per fortnight (0.5 FTE). In this critical leadership position, you will enhance medication safety governance across our organization. Your responsibilities will include coordinating medication safety initiatives and projects, contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans, and leading audits and evaluations aimed at improving the safe and effective use of medicines.
Additionally, you will support communication and education efforts by developing medication-related bulletins and conducting reviews of medicine events and trends. About the Team/Service/Location
Our Hospital Pharmacy team is collaborative and innovative, dedicated to providing safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. You will be joining a supportive environment that values professional growth, teamwork, and continuous improvement. We hold regular journal clubs, grand rounds, and clinical talks, and we have an Education and Training Pharmacist available to assist with your professional development. We also encourage participation in external training opportunities and are actively involved with the local branch of the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand, which organizes continuing education sessions.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- A recognized Pharmacy qualification and current registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand, including a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
- A postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or an equivalent qualification.
- Significant experience in hospital pharmacy, accompanied by a passion for medication safety and governance.
- Demonstrated experience in leading or participating in audits and quality improvement projects.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach to teamwork.
