About the Role
We are currently seeking Community Based Support Workers to join our Independent Living team in Dunedin - Ōtepoti. We have one full-time position available, offering 32 to 40 daytime hours per week, including one weekend day, as well as one part-time position of up to 25 hours per week.
In this role, you will support individuals on a one-on-one basis, assisting them in achieving their personal goals both at home and within the community. You will be part of our local Support Centre, collaborating with a dedicated team of 30 Support Workers. This position promises a positive and varied work environment where each day presents new challenges and opportunities to connect with different individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Building rapport and fostering positive relationships with the individuals we support.
- Working alongside individuals to help them achieve their personal goals.
- Assisting people in accessing local community resources and building their support networks.
- Completing competency-based training to enhance your skills and qualifications.
- Participating in regular shifts, including one weekend day, with set hours and two consecutive days off each week.
- Performing administrative tasks related to the support provided.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain one at our expense).
- A valid FULL New Zealand Driver License (essential).
- Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand.
- A valid work visa with at least 12 months until expiry.
