Established in 1906, PSO is a Charitable Trust that serves as a leading provider of aged care, retirement living, and social services throughout Otago and the broader South Island. With over 800 staff and 500 volunteers, we operate a well-respected network of eight care homes and offer various community-based social support programs.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a candidate for a casual EnergyMate Coach position covering the Dunedin region. In this role, you will collaborate with the EnergyMate programme to provide energy advice and targeted support. Your primary focus will be to educate and assist whānau in living in warm, dry homes while managing affordable energy costs.
By joining our Family Works team, you will work alongside dedicated colleagues who are also committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
This position operates on a casual basis, allowing you to manage your own hours while ensuring that client and service delivery needs are met.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following skills and qualities:
- A solid understanding of the social and economic complexities within the community.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including relationship-building and advocacy capabilities.
- Knowledge of core budgeting concepts and their broader impact on individuals and families.
- Proficiency in computer systems and databases to enhance service provision through technology.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage complex and competing priorities.
- Independence and the ability to collaborate within a small team.
- Experience in the social service sector is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A full driver's license, as you will be visiting clients in their homes.
