About the Role
We invite you to join our dynamic nursing team, along with a broader clinical team that is focused on enhancing the care for patients with diabetes. Your responsibilities will include direct patient assessment, clinical consultations, and both formal and informal teaching. You will also participate in quality programs and take on leadership roles.
In this position, you will provide specialist nursing care and expertise in direct care delivery while supporting other staff in managing Endocrinology patients and related consumer groups. Collaboration across the organization is essential, as you will act as a practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, leader/change agent, and care coordinator/case manager. Furthermore, this role offers the right candidate an opportunity to advance toward becoming a Diabetes Nurse Practitioner Candidate. You will acquire an expert knowledge base, complex decision-making skills, and clinical competencies to prepare for extended practice within this specialty.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a strong team focus who can work autonomously and has a visionary outlook. Flexibility and the ability to self-monitor while maintaining therapeutic boundaries are crucial for this role. You should have extensive post-registration experience, preferably in endocrinology, and a commitment to furthering your education through postgraduate qualifications or a willingness to develop your advanced practice skills.
Salary Range
This role falls within the expired NZNO Collective Agreement and is positioned between Step 1 ($116,040 per annum) and Step 3 ($127,674 per annum pro-rata) of the Designated Senior Nurse scale Grade 2.
