About the Role
We are currently seeking energetic and motivated casual Support Workers to join our Hamilton - Te Awamutu residential services.
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with various aspects of their daily lives. Your responsibilities will include helping them engage in activities they enjoy, such as swimming, providing personal care, supporting mealtime routines, managing household tasks, and teaching essential life skills. The scope of your role is diverse and rewarding.
Support Workers will be part of a team that works shifts or specific rosters to provide 24/7 support, with opportunities for additional sleepover payments included in some schedules.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and possess qualities such as kindness and understanding.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly with individuals with disabilities and challenging behaviors
- A full driver's licence
- The initiative to encourage individuals to pursue their goals, along with an energetic and outgoing personality
- An ability to think creatively and respect diverse perspectives and lifestyles
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as the individuals we support come from varied backgrounds with differing needs and interests
