About the Role
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our Capital Delivery Group in a permanent position based in Petone, with regular travel to various project sites. This role focuses on enhancing assets at our water and wastewater treatment plants and offers opportunities for program management and career development. You will play a crucial role in overseeing upgrades, guiding projects from planning through to delivery. By collaborating with engineers, contractors, and council partners, you will ensure our projects yield sustainable water supplies and treatment solutions.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Engaging with technical design and water engineers to review designs and specifications
- Managing project milestones, activity scope, and performance
- Implementing project methodologies and practices
- Setting delivery expectations and engaging with suppliers, consultancies, and providing commercial support
- Handling financial reporting and management
- Managing project risks and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should have a background in project engineering or process engineering, with experience in project management, or come from a civil project management background in sectors such as oil, gas, or plant management, with a solid understanding of technical requirements.
Additionally, you will need:
- Strong financial management, reporting, and forecasting skills
- Excellent supplier engagement and contract management abilities
- Proficiency in adopting and embedding project management methodologies, with a qualification in PRINCE2 or a similar framework
- Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement and performance reporting
- Familiarity with Microsoft Projects, Microsoft 365, and general computer software
- Understanding of capital project lifecycles and a proven track record in delivering end-to-end infrastructure or plant projects
