About the Role We are currently looking for an experienced and dynamic Contract Manager to join our Wellington team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing specific operations within the department, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, optimizing resource usage, and achieving target results. The successful candidate will develop and implement plans and procedures that promote profitable and sustainable growth across all contracts. Additionally, you will ensure the effective delivery of business plans, manage asset returns, and oversee cash flow requirements. Key Responsibilities - Manage assigned contracts to ensure performance aligns with customer expectations regarding quality and timelines. - Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including special conditions and specifications, while effectively managing variations. - Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. - Ensure that contract methodologies, budgets, and programs are aligned with tendered outcomes, including margins, quality, and timelines. - Identify and mitigate business risks while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards. - Promote a culture of Zero Harm through operational excellence and by leading by example. Requirements The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results. You should have: - A tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience). - BE or NZCE qualifications with at least 5 years of project management or engineering experience. - The ability to interpret and leverage SOR/contract documents for optimal contract outcomes. - An understanding of financial and accounting processes, including the preparation of progress and claim reports. - A strategic approach with the ability to plan and execute long-term goals while addressing immediate operational needs. - A solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards, with a commitment to Zero Harm practices.
