About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Educator to join our People and Professional Development Team, focusing on Haematology. This full-time, permanent role offers a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled individual with expertise in haematology nursing, including chemotherapy administration. In this position, you will collaborate with the Medicine and Emergency Department Professional Development team, primarily responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering professional development activities for our nursing staff and the wider health community.
Our Professional Development Team is committed to equipping and empowering our nursing workforce to provide the highest quality of patient and whānau-centered care.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- A skilled and credible practitioner dedicated to improving standards of practice.
- A confident and competent communicator capable of fostering effective working relationships across various settings.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to independently manage workloads.
- Creativity and intuition, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for practice development.
- A passion for empowering and supporting the development of others.
- Experience in delivering professional development and learning activities.
- A strong commitment to the essentials of nursing.
Essential qualifications include:
- Registration as a New Zealand nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience, including at least four years in haematology nursing in New Zealand.
- Proficiency in nursing practice, with demonstrated leadership and engagement in postgraduate education.
- A solid understanding of haematology/oncology chemotherapies and cytotoxic training.
