About the Role
We are currently seeking a Manager for Nutrition and Food Services at Waikato Hospital. This permanent, full-time position involves managing and coordinating the hospital's patient meal service during daytime hours. Your responsibilities will include overseeing menu processing, the tray line, and the ward staff who deliver meals and beverages to patients.
As part of a supportive management team, you will handle day-to-day tasks such as rostering, recruitment, payroll, performance management, and staff training. Ensuring compliance with food safety standards will also be a key aspect of your role. You will serve as the crucial link between inpatient wards and the Nutrition and Food Service, facilitating effective communication, timely service, and responsiveness to patient needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to lead and motivate a diverse team in a busy hospital food service environment. Each day, you will contribute to delivering safe, high-quality, and patient-centered food and beverage services across Waikato Hospital.
About the Service
The objective of our Nutrition and Food Services is to provide a safe, high-quality, and efficient food and nutrition service that meets the nutritional needs of our patients while promoting their overall health and well-being.
Our team prepares and serves over 850 patient meals during each meal time. We also offer Meals on Wheels for community clients and operate five on-site retail outlets. Our patient meal service encompasses the production, service, and distribution of food to patient bedsides. Collaboration among our managers ensures that we deliver a high-quality food service, emphasizing excellence in customer service.
