About the Role
We are seeking a Clinical Director for our dynamic service in Northland, New Zealand. This permanent, full-time position requires a proactive clinician who excels in communication and relationship-building within our close-knit hospital teams. The ideal candidate will have experience as a clinical lead in a rural hospital setting, with a strong understanding of medical staff management, rostering, and daily operations.
As the Clinical Director, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective services that align with the objectives of our three rural hospitals. We are particularly focused on improving health outcomes for our rural communities, especially for Māori populations, and addressing health inequities.

This role is anticipated to be 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) and will include clinical responsibilities within one or more of the following teams:
- Kaitaia Hospital
- Bay of Islands Hospital
- Dargaville Hospital

About You
To be considered for this position, you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in a Rural Hospital Medicine Vocational scope of practice. If you are currently overseas or not yet registered, we are happy to assist you with the MCNZ registration process.
