About the Role
We are pleased to announce multiple openings for the position of Sales Co-worker at our Sylvia Park store in Auckland. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional omni-channel customer experiences and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As an IKEA Sales Co-worker, you will be expected to:
- Demonstrate proven experience in a sales or customer service role, preferably in home furnishings or a fast-paced retail environment.
- Exhibit a passion for home furnishings and maintain a high level of product knowledge while sharing the IKEA product range with customers.
- Possess strong communication skills and a genuine ability to connect with customers, understanding their needs and building strong relationships.
- Approach sales authentically while maintaining a professional and self-motivated attitude towards achieving sales targets and KPIs.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, with a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Embrace a 'Togetherness' mindset, allowing you to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills and a willingness to learn about the technical aspects of the IKEA product range and tools.
- Maintain a safe mindset and be comfortable with physical work, including manual handling, repetitive movements, and lifting.
Requirements
- The work location for this role is our Sylvia Park store in Auckland. Initially, you may also work from our warehouse in Māngere before the store opens.
- We are recruiting for several permanent positions with a variety of working hours, including full-time and part-time options:
- 80 hours per fortnight
- 60-79 hours per fortnight
- 40-59 hours per fortnight
- 20-39 hours per fortnight
- The internal title for this role is IKEA Co-worker, with an expected start date of August 25, 2025.
- The first step in our recruitment process involves an application form. Successful candidates will be notified via email and invited to complete a video interview.
- Our store operates seven days a week, so you must be available to work a rotating roster that includes day and evening shifts, as well as weekends.

- IKEA Sylvia Park is a non-smoking workplace. Please note that parking will not be provided, and we encourage all co-workers to utilize public transport wherever possible.
