About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced Excavator Operators with a Class 2 license to join our team in Auckland. This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with competitive pay ranging from $25 to $30 per hour plus an additional 8% holiday pay. As an Excavator Operator, you will play a crucial role in supporting major civil infrastructure projects across the Auckland region.
In this temporary role, there are long-term opportunities available for the right candidates. You will be operating heavy machinery to assist in various tasks including earthworks, site development, drainage, roading, and general civil works. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that all work is completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators (GPS experience is a plus), loaders, and rollers.
- Perform trenching, grading, backfilling, and land preparation.
- Collaborate closely with site supervisors and other crew members to achieve project goals.
- Adhere to site plans, health and safety protocols, and conduct daily machine inspections.
- Assist with general labor duties as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators on civil sites.
- A valid Class 2 license (Class 4, WTR, and other endorsements are advantageous).
- A solid understanding of construction site safety protocols.
- Reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
- Physical fitness and a willingness to assist with manual tasks when necessary.
