About the Role
We are seeking energetic and motivated individuals to join our team as Support Workers in our residential service located in New Plymouth. In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team that provides a safe environment for rangatahi and tamariki, enabling them to develop confidence, acquire new skills, build friendships, and engage with the community.
As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting young people who utilize our services to live as independently as possible. This includes supporting them in their educational pursuits, monitoring health concerns, and helping them achieve their personal goals for improved outcomes.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A genuine desire to support rangatahi and tamariki in learning new skills and achieving their goals
- Previous experience working with young people
- An understanding of intellectual disabilities and autism
- Creativity, innovative thinking, and a collaborative spirit
- A full New Zealand driver's licence
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests
Benefits
In return for your dedication, we offer competitive pay rates ranging from $23.50 to $29.10 per hour. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to earn while you learn through free training towards NZQA Health and Wellbeing.
