About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our dedicated team at Whangarei Hospital. Our team currently comprises four supportive gastroenterologists, and we are looking for an additional member who can provide general gastroenterology services and basic ERCP skills. This role will be vital in supporting the healthcare needs of our growing population in Northland.
Our advanced therapeutic endoscopist is ready to transition the ERCP patient case load to a new, energetic team member. We provide excellent departmental support from Pathology, Surgery, and Radiology to ensure the highest standard of care.

About You
To be considered for this position, you must have, or be eligible for, specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in an Internal Medicine Vocational scope of practice. Ideally, you will hold FRACP or an equivalent qualification; however, we are also open to applications from advanced trainees who are nearing the completion of their training. Desired skills include general gastroenterology, basic ERCP, and GI luminal stent procedures.
