Production & Packing Operator – Pasta Vera (Wigram, Christchurch) We are excited to announce that Pasta Vera is seeking dedicated individuals to join our dynamic team at our busy, zero-food-waste pasta factory in Wigram. We specialize in producing high-quality fresh pasta, sauces, lasagnes, and ready meals for supermarkets and restaurants across New Zealand. About the Role This position guarantees a minimum of 20 hours per week from Monday to Thursday, with the potential to become full-time for the right candidates. We have the following shifts available: - 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM (2 positions) - 3:00 PM – 8:30 PM (2 positions) Flexibility is essential as you must be available anytime between 4:00 AM and 10:30 PM. While we do not schedule weekends or overnight shifts, there may be instances where shifts run a bit longer. As a perk, you will receive a 50% discount on our pasta products. What You Will Be Doing Each day will present unique challenges, and your tasks will include: - Cooking sauces, preparing vegetables, and making fresh pasta - Packing and labeling products - Operating machinery and conducting quality checks - Cleaning and working in chillers and freezers as needed - Supporting the team in various tasks as required What We Are Looking For We seek individuals who are reliable and prepared to see the job through to completion. Ideal candidates should be: - Physically fit, as the role involves being on your feet and lifting up to 25 kg - Experienced in a bakery, packhouse, or food factory (preferred but not required) - Capable of following recipes, adhering to food safety regulations, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) - Excellent communicators with strong teamwork skills - Available for occasional work on Fridays if needed To Apply If you are interested in joining our team, please send an email with your CV and a brief cover letter addressing the following points: - Your availability between 4:00 AM and 10:30 PM when required - Your willingness to stay past your shift if production is not complete - Your ability to work on occasional Fridays - Your expected hourly pay or pay range We provide training and are ready for an immediate start.
