Te Whatu Ora Waitemata is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals over the age of 65 who are facing mental health challenges and cognitive changes. Our Mental Health Services for Older Adults (MHSOA) team is committed to delivering high-quality care to a culturally diverse population in Auckland's Waitemata region.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our well-established and efficient multidisciplinary Sub-acute Treatment and Rehabilitation (STaR) community team. This part-time position, offering 0.4 FTE or 32 hours per fortnight, is based at Waitakere Hospital and operates Monday to Friday.
In this role, you will engage in a variety of essential activities, including psychological and neuropsychological assessments, evidence-based interventions, specialist mental health assessments, safety planning, and care coordination for clients receiving psychological services. This position provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your clinical skills in a supportive work environment, allowing you to work with clients who have complex mental health needs.
We offer a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) benefit under the APEX collective contract, providing each psychologist with up to $2,500 per year for CPD, which can be accumulated over two years for a total of $5,000. This funding can be utilized for attending international conferences, workshops, and purchasing relevant books and subscriptions.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
