About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Clinical Physiologist to join our dynamic Cardiac Physiology team. This full-time position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care while advancing your professional skills.
In this role, you will work alongside a dedicated group of Cardiac Physiologists and Technicians, collaborating with physicians and support staff to deliver efficient and effective care to both inpatients and outpatients. Your responsibilities will include performing a range of cardiac tests within your defined scope of practice, interpreting results, and providing clinical reports to support diagnosis and treatment.
A strong focus on patient care and adherence to professional standards is essential. We emphasize the importance of continuous education and training to maintain the knowledge and skills required for this role. We are looking for someone who is resourceful, flexible, and possesses a patient-centered approach, along with a great sense of humor to foster a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various physiological assessments, including ECG, pulmonary function tests, and other diagnostic procedures
- Interpret test results and generate clinical reports to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams to ensure coordinated and effective patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulations
- Participate in the development and implementation of new clinical protocols and practices
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff and trainees
- Engage in ongoing professional development and attend relevant clinical meetings
About the Team/Service
Waikato Hospital serves as a regional hub for the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts and plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional healthcare services. Our Cardiology department includes outpatient clinics, cardiac diagnostic testing, and a cardiac interventional suite that performs a variety of advanced procedures.
Our team collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary group of cardiologists, Medical Imaging Technologists, nurses, and healthcare assistants, all united by a commitment to patient care. About You
To be successful in this role as a Cardiac Clinical Physiologist, you will need:
- A current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
- A Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Technology (MTEX) or equivalent
- A Certificate of Cardiac Physiology (CCP) or equivalent
- Registration with the appropriate professional body
