About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and confident Civil Operator to join our busy crew working on various infrastructure projects in North Christchurch. If you possess strong machine operating skills and a solid work ethic, we would love to hear from you.
In this role, you will operate a range of civil plant and machinery, including excavators, loaders, rollers, vibratory hammers, pumps, and trucks. Your responsibilities will include carrying out trenching, drainage, dewatering, and large pipeline installations. You will also assist with ground preparation, backfilling, and compaction work. Maintaining equipment and completing pre-start checks to ensure site efficiency will be essential, as will collaborating with supervisors to meet project goals. Ensuring a safe and productive worksite is a priority.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you will need to have:
- Proven machine operating experience, specifically with excavators, loaders, and rollers
- A minimum Class 2 license (Class 4/5 and tipper truck experience will be considered a strong advantage)
- Hands-on experience with drainage and dewatering, including trenching and pipe laying
- The ability to pass a drug test
- Availability for an immediate start
Benefits
We offer a competitive pay rate ranging from $30 to $35 per hour, along with full-time hours from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 5 pm. Ongoing work is available for the right candidate, and you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects using modern machinery. Full personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided by the Tradestaff team.
