About the Role
We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our WellFood Department at the Burwood Health Campus in Christchurch. This full-time, permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our patients (turoro) and their families (whanau) by working in a commercial kitchen environment.
Starting at $27.80 per hour, based on the Etu Multi-Employer Collective Agreement, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing general kitchen and ward duties, such as washing dishes and preparing food.
- Providing excellent customer service to our patients and their families.
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas, including benches and equipment.
- Sweeping and mopping floors.
- Handling waste and linen.
- Replenishing supplies in service areas and receiving stock.
- Completing and signing cleaning rosters to maintain a safe work environment.
About You
We are seeking individuals with the following skills and experience:
- A strong passion for food and coffee, with exceptional skills in these areas.
- Experience in cash management and till operations.
- Food handling experience is desirable, but not essential.
- Excellent barista skills.
- Strong communication abilities and a capacity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
- A friendly and positive attitude, with the ability to maintain efficiency without compromising quality.
- Reliability and good time management skills.
- A flexible approach with a "can-do" attitude, complemented by excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience in a similar environment is preferred.
