About the Role We are currently offering casual employment opportunities at our acute crisis respite service located in Taumata Atawhai. This position is ideal for individuals looking to kickstart their career in the mental health sector while enjoying flexible shifts and diverse support work. As a casual Support Worker, you will be filling in for permanent staff on leave, providing you with a variety of experiences in our acute crisis and respite service. Your responsibilities will include supporting guests with medication, offering a listening ear, facilitating activities, maintaining a large home, cooking, cleaning, and hosting visiting clinical teams. Please note that the hours of work are irregular and will be offered based on availability. Our service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we currently have a high demand for shifts in the following time slots: - Morning shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm - Afternoon/evening shift: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm - Awake night shifts: 11:00 pm - 7:30 am The Team In this role, you will report to the Team Coach and work alongside our dedicated Pathways Wellington team, all united in the common purpose of supporting individuals experiencing mental illness. Requirements We are looking for candidates who possess a caring nature and can work with a person-centered approach. A commitment to recovery-focused practices and a keen attention to detail are essential. Additionally, you will need to meet the following requirements: - A current full driver's license - A current first aid certificate or a willingness to obtain one - For our respite services, you must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent, or be currently studying towards this qualification - Flexibility and availability for varying shifts The closing date for applications is June 14, 2025.
