About the Role
We are currently offering permanent part-time positions for Health Care Assistants within our Children's Ward at Tauranga Hospital. This role allows for up to 0.8 FTE, equating to 32 hours per week. We encourage you to specify your preferred hours in your cover letter.
As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, family-centered care in a supportive environment. Under the guidance of experienced Registered Nurses, you will assist with the daily needs of tamariki and their whanau, making a meaningful impact during significant moments in their lives.
Our Children's Ward features a 22-bed inpatient unit, a 4-bed Child Assessment Unit, and a 4-bed Day Stay Unit. Each shift offers a variety of experiences and the opportunity to support young patients and their families with dignity and care.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our dedicated paediatric team is passionate about enhancing the health and well-being of children, adolescents, and their families. About You
We are looking for a kind, observant team player who thrives in a busy clinical setting. You should possess a natural rapport with children, a calm demeanor, and a desire to contribute to a collaborative, care-focused team.
What you will bring:
- A minimum Level 3 NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or childcare setting is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to culturally safe, family-centered care.
- A willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a high-performing team.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including afternoons and nights.
