About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers for immediate and ongoing deployment across infrastructure and commercial projects nationwide. These are full-time, permanent positions offering a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. The site location will vary based on project demand, and we provide all necessary personal protective equipment and tools. This role is particularly suitable for individuals with a solid background in structural reinforcement who are open to traveling or relocating as required.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Interpreting engineering plans and drawings to cut, bend, and place steel bars and mesh
- Tying rebar using appropriate techniques for various reinforcement systems
- Placing and securing steel within formwork prior to concrete pours
- Complying with health, safety, and quality standards on-site
- Working efficiently within large construction teams while adhering to strict deadlines
Skills and Experience Required
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of three years of experience in steel fixing or reinforcing steel, gained either in New Zealand or overseas
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Strong physical fitness and a keen attention to detail
- Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects is preferred
- Relevant trade experience or qualifications will be advantageous
Nationwide Opportunity and Travel
While this role is listed in Wellington, we are hiring for positions across all regions of New Zealand in line with project requirements. The regions include:
North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.
South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
