About the Role
We are currently seeking part-time Activities Assistants to join our team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a passion for caring for others to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. The position involves working 24 hours per week, with shifts primarily in the morning and on weekends.
As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering activity programs tailored to meet the individual needs of our residents—physically, spiritually, culturally, cognitively, and emotionally. Your responsibilities will include planning, organizing, and executing activities, outings, and events, as well as engaging with community groups. This position allows you to form lasting relationships with residents and their families, contributing to a safe, caring, and supportive environment.
Your Skills and Experience
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Proven experience in caring for others, preferably in an aged care setting
- NZQA Level 2 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or an equivalent qualification (such as a Bachelor of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- A full New Zealand driver's license and confidence in driving a van
- A genuine love for helping people, coupled with excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude
- A commitment to continuous improvement, along with an understanding of health and safety procedures
