About Our Role:
We are currently seeking a full-time Diversional Therapist to join our team. This role requires a commitment of 32 hours or more per week, including morning and weekend shifts. As a Diversional Therapist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our residents have access to a variety of engaging activities tailored to meet their physical, cognitive, social, spiritual, and emotional needs. Your efforts will encourage community involvement and bring joy to our residents' lives.
We are looking for someone with a bubbly and enthusiastic personality who genuinely enjoys working alongside our residents. Creativity and the ability to think outside the box are essential as you design new activities and opportunities that align with the interests and needs of our residents.
Requirements:
- A qualification in Diversional Therapy
- Previous experience as a Diversional Therapist, particularly in psychogeriatric and dementia settings
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent time management and prioritization abilities, with a knack for multitasking
- Capability to lead a team and work cohesively within a collaborative environment
- A full driver’s license, with the ability to drive a manual van or a willingness to learn
- Understanding of Nga Paerewa sector standards and the application of the Treaty of Waitangi in the workplace
