About the Role
We are currently looking for an experienced and committed Sexual Health Physician to join our team at the Christchurch Sexual Health Centre. This position is intended to cover a short-term vacancy and presents an opportunity to provide high-quality sexual healthcare to our patients. In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best practices in sexual health management.
As a Sexual Health Physician, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting outpatient clinic duties and managing sexual health conditions with competence and ethical consideration.
- Providing expert advice, referrals, and consultations in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Supervising, teaching, and contributing to ongoing research initiatives.
- Maintaining clinical documentation and participating in quality improvement processes.
About the Team
Our team consists of doctors, clinical nurse specialists, nursing staff, and administrative professionals, all working together to deliver a patient-centered sexual health service for the Canterbury region.

About You
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A medical qualification that is recognized for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Sexual Health Physician.
- A current Annual Practising Certificate.
- Postgraduate medical experience with a focus on the medical management of sexually transmitted infections.
- Experience in sexual health, family planning, or medical gynecology, which is highly desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A patient-focused and empathetic approach to healthcare.
