About the Role
In the position of Interventional Cardiologist, you will be responsible for:
- Performing a variety of interventional procedures, including elective and acute angioplasty, as well as complex coronary interventions.
- Participating in the acute management of cardiovascular emergencies and complex cases.
- Contributing to multidisciplinary patient care by collaborating closely with cardiothoracic surgery, radiology, and intensive care teams.
- Providing clinical leadership and training to junior doctors and allied health professionals.
- Engaging in ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participating in an on-call roster as part of a dedicated team.
About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or an equivalent specialist qualification.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a specialist in cardiology.
- Extensive experience in interventional cardiology, including proficiency in complex coronary interventions.
- A strong commitment to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and teamwork.
- A passion for innovation, research, and teaching.
