About the Role We are currently seeking a Transport Dispatcher to oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of transport activities for both full and empty containers across New Zealand. This role is critical in ensuring optimal fleet utilization, safe operations, and timely service delivery. You will maintain strong communication with customers while ensuring compliance with all legislative and company requirements. In this position, you will: - Plan and coordinate transport activities for full and empty containers. - Optimize fleet utilization to achieve efficiency, service, and cost targets. - Schedule and allocate work while remaining flexible to adapt plans as situations change. - Collaborate closely with drivers, customers, depots, shipping lines, and ports to ensure smooth operations. - Support yard and transport operations, including safe loading and unloading as needed. - Monitor container hire periods, detention, and demurrage to minimize unnecessary costs. - Maintain accurate dispatch records and ensure proactive communication with all stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: - A minimum of three years of experience in transport dispatch, logistics, or a related operational role. - Strong planning, problem-solving, and multitasking skills. - Excellent communication skills, with confidence in engaging with drivers, customers, and internal teams. - A strong focus on safety, compliance, and professionalism at all times. - Flexibility to work rostered or on-call hours to support 24/7 operations. - A positive, can-do attitude, with the ability to assist in other operational areas when needed. This is a full-time permanent position based in Auckland. Applicants must have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of application.
