About the Role
We are seeking two Café Supervisors/Baristas to join our team in permanent positions. These roles offer between 30 to 40 hours per week, with a pay rate ranging from $24.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on your experience and skill set. Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Supervising café staff to ensure high-quality customer service and adherence to company procedures.
- Coordinating staff rosters, managing shift changes, and ensuring adequate staffing during service periods.
- Taking customer orders, processing payments, and providing service support during peak times.
- Ensuring all food and beverage preparation areas comply with hygiene and safety regulations.
- Monitoring inventory levels and assisting with ordering and stock rotation.
- Training new staff in café procedures, customer service standards, and safe food handling practices.
- Resolving customer complaints professionally and escalating issues when necessary.
- Ensuring all café equipment is clean, well-maintained, and operated safely.
- Completing end-of-day cash reconciliations and assisting with basic financial reporting as delegated.
- Preparing and serving coffee and beverages to a high standard.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and managing transactions efficiently.
- Upholding food safety and workplace health standards at all times.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A Certificate in Business, Hospitality, Communication, or a related field at NZQF Level 4.
- A minimum of 6 months’ experience in a hospitality environment is preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility and reliability, including the willingness to work on weekends.
