About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Drainage Foreperson to lead a significant drainage project in the heart of Christchurch. This project includes over 2 kilometers of deep drainage and a million-dollar pump station, and we believe that your leadership will be crucial in delivering high-quality results on time. The position is set to commence at the end of June. Wages for this role range from $36.00 to $40.00 per hour, with options for a negotiable salaried package available. What You Will Be Doing In this role, you will be responsible for managing deep drainage crews and overseeing site productivity. You will coordinate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining job documentation. Additionally, you will be tasked with problem-solving in challenging wet and complex ground conditions. Requirements To succeed in this role, we require candidates to have at least 5 years of drainage and leadership experience. You should be confident in leading teams and managing ground crews, with a strong understanding of trenching, pipework, shoring, and safety regulations. Excellent planning, communication, and record-keeping skills are essential. A valid Site Safe or Construct Safe certification is preferred, and we can assist with obtaining this if necessary. Finally, candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
