About the Role
We are currently seeking a Phlebotomist to join our devoted team at Canterbury Health Laboratories. This full-time, permanent position requires the successful candidate to work 40 hours per week across multiple collection sites. Whether you are an experienced professional or new to the field, we offer comprehensive training and support to help you succeed in your role.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Collecting blood samples from both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring professionalism and minimal discomfort
- Adhering to clinical guidelines for proper sample handling, labeling, and delivery
- Providing respectful and compassionate interactions with patients and their families
- Promoting a positive image of the Blood Test Centre through excellent customer service
- Supporting team members and fostering a collegial, respectful work environment
- Actively maintaining and enhancing your knowledge of phlebotomy procedures and technology, including Delphic LIS and eOrders
- Assisting with pre-analytical sample processing and other laboratory support duties as needed

Preferred (but not essential) qualifications include:
- Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand
- Experience in phlebotomy or healthcare specimen services
- Familiarity with Delphic LIS and laboratory workflows
- Awareness of health and safety practices in clinical environments
