    About the Company At Extrastaff, we are a dedicated Labour Hire Company focused on connecting skilled professionals with exciting opportunities in construction. About the Role We are currently seeking full-time Construction Technicians to join our team for various infrastructure and commercial construction projects across New Zealand. These positions are permanent and full-time, with site locations determined by project demands. As a Construction Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality work while adhering to safety and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for tasks that align with your skills and abilities, all of which are essential to our business operations. Your key responsibilities will include: - Complying with all aspects of contracts, projects, or tasks, and providing customer service that meets or exceeds expectations. - Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembly of structures above ground level. - Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete. - Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors. - Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding patches using appropriate tools. - Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using various tools. - Performing general labouring tasks, including cleaning construction sites as directed by managers. - Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment, and transporting them around sites. - Completing any other duties as assigned. Requirements To be successful in this position, you should have: - Some experience in the construction industry, although it is not essential. - A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic. - A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry. - A sound knowledge of health and safety procedures. - Reliability and a hardworking attitude. - Experience in fabricating and installing custom joinery and cabinetry. - Skills in general framing, fix-outs, door hanging, skirting, and architraves. - The ability to measure and cut materials with precision. - A collaborative spirit to work effectively as part of a team. - A commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace. - A willingness to collaborate with other trades as necessary. - The ability to pass a criminal check and drug test. Nationwide Opportunity and Travel While this role is listed for Hawke's Bay, we are recruiting for positions throughout all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. This includes areas in both the North and South Islands, such as Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland. Applicants are encouraged to apply from any of these regions and must be open to travel or relocation as needed. We will cover relocation costs for the right candidates. Benefits We offer a competitive salary ranging from a minimum of $26.00 to a maximum of $40.00 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week. Employees can expect full-time, permanent roles with all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools provided.
