At Addington Hostel, we have been providing housing for men for 130 years. Our 24-hour staffed site offers comprehensive support for individuals with histories related to corrections, mental health, or addictions, who are seeking change and permanent housing within the community.
About the Role
We are looking for a Hostel Cleaner to join our team on a part-time basis, working 18 hours per week. This role requires availability on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with each shift consisting of 6 hours of cleaning. Our cleaners play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the hostel, including bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas. There may also be opportunities for relieving cleaning duties as needed.
What Will Your Responsibilities Be
- Maintain a high level of hygiene across bathrooms, kitchens, and other common spaces.
- Restock cleaning products in the bathrooms.
- Clean floors as required.
- Assist with additional cleaning tasks, including bedrooms.
- Interact positively with residents during your cleaning duties.
- Support other staff members as needed.
Our Ideal Candidate Will
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial cleaning, preferably in settings such as rest homes, hospitals, boarding hostels, or schools.
- Be comfortable operating in an all-male hostel environment (note that the majority of staff are female).
- Be capable of working independently while always being part of a team on-site.
- Exhibit confidence and friendliness when interacting with residents in their living areas.

This is a permanent part-time position with a total of 18 hours worked per week. The hourly rate for this role is $28.95.
