About the Role We are currently seeking a qualified Industrial Electrician to join our team in Mt. Wellington. This full-time, permanent position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact by providing a comprehensive range of electrical services. In this role, you will be responsible for: - Installing and maintaining electrical systems, including switchboards, emergency lighting, and battery backup systems. - Setting up power supplies for construction sites and conducting electrical tests in compliance with current regulations and standards. - Wiring and connecting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to industrial equipment and systems. - Supporting instrumentation and water-related systems (experience preferred but not necessary). - Explaining appliance operations to clients and completing all required documentation. - Ensuring adherence to safe work practices and compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), incident reporting, and maintaining equipment safety. - Leading by example in health and safety matters and participating in worker participation practices. - Collaborating with technicians, subcontractors, and project managers to achieve high-quality outcomes. Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following: - A current NZ electrical practicing licence (registration required). - A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. - The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. - A solid understanding of industry regulations and standards. - Basic computer literacy. - Experience in instrumentation or the water industry is a plus, but not mandatory. - Electrical Inspector certification is desirable.
