About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced General Practitioners to join our team in delivering healthcare to Quota Refugees. This role involves maintaining, restoring, and coordinating healthcare for a population with complex health needs. You will conduct expert clinical assessments, screenings, and interventions, while also identifying health concerns that may include mental health and addictions.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with refugees and a solid understanding of their unique health requirements. Experience in a general practice or urgent care clinic is highly desirable, along with additional expertise in areas such as children's health, women's health, mental health, and sexual health. Your role will be crucial in helping refugees build trust and confidence in the New Zealand health system.
This position is based at Te Ahuru Mowai o Aotearoa, and offers free car parking. It is a part-time role (0.6 FTE) scheduled from Monday to Friday, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. There is no requirement for on-call or out-of-hours work.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:
- Vocationally registered medical practitioner with a current practicing certificate
- A minimum of three years' experience as a vocationally registered practitioner
- Ability to work flexibly and innovatively, collaborating effectively with others
- Previous experience working with refugees, along with a strong understanding of their health needs, is preferred
