About the Role
We are currently seeking a part-time Cleaner for North Shore Hospital. This role is exclusively open to current employees of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, and we are unable to accept applications from individuals outside our organization. The position is a parental leave cover ending in October 2025, offering a rate of $27.80 per hour, with potential penal rates for certain shifts. The working hours are Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
As a Cleaner, your contributions are vital to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for our patients, their families, and our staff. You will take pride in your work as you play an essential role in ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in our hospital. Our team of dedicated Cleaners works around the clock, and we are looking for an individual who can join us on a fixed-term, part-time basis.

About Us
Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand Waitemata provides health services to approximately 500,000 residents across the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas, making it the largest health district in the region. North Shore Hospital is located on Shakespeare Road in Takapuna, offering stunning views of Lake Pupuke, the Rangitoto Channel, and the surrounding Auckland area.

About You
We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and attributes:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written English communication
- Respectful and courteous demeanor towards patients and colleagues
- Reliability and availability to pick up shifts at short notice
- Motivation to engage in mandatory staff training sessions, which may include operating floor care machinery
- Ability to follow duty lists, safety protocols, and instructions for specialized cleaning equipment
- Flexibility to adapt to unexpected changes in a busy hospital environment
