About the Role We are seeking a Parks and Gardens Maintenance Officer who will play a vital role in the upkeep and enhancement of our city’s green spaces. In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks, including: - Mowing (both hand and ride-on) - Line trimming - Spraying, weeding, pruning, and planting - Rubbish collection - Cleaning BBQs and water fountains Working in our parks and cemeteries will provide you with the opportunity to connect with a diverse range of people and cultures, making an open-minded and respectful approach essential. About You We are looking for a team player who is eager to learn and grow within our organization. You should be dedicated to maintaining our parks to the highest standard, ensuring that all aspects, including turf, gardens, and associated furnishings, are well cared for. To be successful in this role, you will need: - A full driver's license - A Level 4 National Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent experience in a similar role - A Grow Safe qualification, class two truck license, and W endorsement are highly desirable but not essential. We are willing to support you in obtaining these qualifications if you don’t already have them. Hours of Work The standard hours for this position are from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with a requirement to work weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis. Position This is a permanent, full-time position based primarily at one of our depots located in Wigram or Bromley. Salary The salary range for this role is from $65,502 to $72,780 per annum, based on a 40-hour work week. Starting salaries will depend on the knowledge, skills, and experience of the successful candidate, along with relative positioning within the team and the organization.
