About the Role We are currently seeking a passionate Diversional Therapist to join our team at Harewood Road in Christchurch. This is a permanent full-time position, offering more than 32 hours of work each week, with a competitive hourly rate of $30.03. We offer both AM and PM shifts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents. Your positive and compassionate attitude, along with your ability to bring smiles to others' faces, will be essential. As a Diversional Therapist, you will play a key role in ensuring that our residents receive the highest standard of care in a warm and supportive environment. Your responsibilities will include planning, organizing, and delivering a variety of engaging activities that cater to our residents' physical, cognitive, social, spiritual, and emotional needs. You will also encourage community involvement through outings, events, and partnerships with local groups. This role is not only rewarding but also allows you to create lasting relationships with our residents and their families while working collaboratively within a dedicated team. Your Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess: - A genuine passion for caring for others, ideally within an aged care setting - A National Certificate in Diversional Therapy, an equivalent qualification, or previous experience as an Activities Assistant - Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills - A full New Zealand driver's license and confidence in driving a van - Excellent customer service skills, along with a friendly and positive demeanor - A commitment to continuous improvement and a solid understanding of health and safety procedures Benefits Joining Heritage Lifecare means being part of one of the most progressive aged care companies in New Zealand.
