We are committed to building an integrated health system based on partnership, equity, sustainability, and whanau-centred care. Our mission is to create a health service that excels in meeting the diverse needs of our communities. About the Role We are currently seeking Oral Health Therapists to join our team in various locations along the stunning West Coast, including Hokitika, Greymouth, and Westport. As an Oral Health Therapist, you will provide essential dental therapy services to our tamariki (children) in community and school settings. This is a permanent, full-time position with hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patient groups and manage a wide range of oral health issues. Some travel across the West Coast may be necessary as part of this role. Your responsibilities will include: - Delivering high-quality oral health care tailored to the physical, social, and cultural needs of preschool and school-aged clients. - Participating in meetings, in-service training, and courses relevant to both the service and your professional development. - Engaging in team meetings and contributing to service quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, as this position is located in a remote area, you may qualify for a voluntary bonding scheme, which offers a payment of $11,796 after three years of service, along with two additional payments of $3,932 after the fourth and fifth years. About You We are looking for a passionate Dental/Oral Health Therapist who is eager to make a positive impact in a regional setting. You should hold a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) and ideally have experience with Dental IT systems, such as Titanium, although this is not a requirement. Key Skills and Qualifications: - Ability to provide high-quality dental care to children while adhering to privacy and infection prevention control standards. - Strong motivation for ongoing professional development. - Excellent administrative, organizational, and time management skills. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population. - Self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable to the evolving health landscape. - Competency or a commitment to learning in te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori. - Current registration and Annual Practising Certificate with the New Zealand Dental Council. - A clean manual driver’s license. About the West Coast The West Coast is a unique region of New Zealand, characterized by its close-knit community where your work will have a tangible impact.
